Using Trams Outside the CBD

Delegates can now use tap and go when travelling on Melbourne’s trams and myki‑enabled trains. Full‑fare travellers can tap on and off using a Mastercard or Visa (card, phone or smart watch), and fares are the same as myki.

Make sure your card has enough funds and take it out of your wallet before tapping. Public transport across Victoria is currently half price until 1 January 2027, and this applies automatically when you tap.
